The educational system has never really been set up for ‘alternative thinkers’.
The traditional educational system often leaves those labelled as ‘special needs’ with negative feelings of self-worth.
The performance of ‘alternative thinkers’ in schools is often not a reliable indicator of their actual intelligence or ability.
The abilities to see things from different perspectives, offer unique insights, come up with startling new ideas, should be greatly valued; for they are clearly ‘gifts’.
Many outstanding individuals of today, and the past, were failed by the educational system, but have gone on to do extraordinary things
Who can I help?
Both children and adults.
Anyone with difficulties in reading, writing, spelling, maths and coordination etc.
Those with conditions such as Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Dyscalcula, Dysgraphia, AD(H)D.
I have a B.A. (hons.) degree in Education, and I am, now, also a licensed Davis® Facilitator.
I have worked for many years in schools, successfully helping, on a one-to-one basis, children with a variety of Special Educational Needs, as well as issues of low self esteem.
I have personal experience with my son, who, now at university studying History, is on the Autistic Spectrum. He also has Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Dysgraphia and Dyscalcula.
I am Dyslexic and Dyspraxic myself, and so have a first hand knowledge of what it is like to struggle with conventional school learning procedures.
How can I help?
As a Facilitator, I am licensed to deliver Davis® correction programs, according to the methods developed by Ron Davis. These are highly successful means of correcting the symptoms associated with particular learning disorders, making use of the gifts that alternative ways of thinking offer.
