stress and anxiety hypnotherapy
I help people reduce stress and anxiety by working with both the conscious and subconscious mind, so they can feel safer, steadier, and more at ease in everyday life.
If you’re constantly on edge, mentally tense, or stuck in a state of ‘coping’, this page is for you.
Not because something is wrong with you — but because your mind and nervous system are working overtime.
The aim of hypnotherapy is to help your system feel safer, steadier, and less constantly “on guard” — so everyday life feels easier to handle.
When stress and anxiety don’t switch off….
Stress and anxiety often start as a normal response to pressure. The problem comes when the mind stays in that state — even when the pressure has eased
This can look like:
feeling tense or on edge most of the time
constant worry or mental scanning
overthinking everything you say or do
irritability, restlessness, or emotional exhaustion
struggling to relax, even during downtime
tension between your external persona nd internal feelings
Over time, this becomes your system’s “normal”.
How hypnotherapy helps with stress and anxiety
I use neuroscience, hypnotherapy, NLP, and SFBT to help you calm your stress response and retrain subconscious patterns.
In simple terms, the work we do together focuses on:
helping the nervous system feel safer
reducing automatic fear or threat responses
interrupting anxious thought loops
building emotional regulation and resilience
build new positive helpful responses and internal scripts
Rather than managing anxiety all day, you’ll learn to manage your own mind and stress response, which can be game-changing to anyone struggling with stress and anxiety.
What clients often notice changing
As stress and anxiety dial down, my clients commonly experience:
feeling calmer without forcing it or pretending
fewer anxious spikes or spirals
clearer thinking and better focus
improved sleep and energy
a greater sense of emotional stability
feelings of panic subside quicker and are less noticeable
Life feels easier and more manageable.
Is this right for you?
This approach may help if you:
feel anxious, stressed, or constantly “on edge”
have tried coping strategies without lasting relief
don’t want medication, or want support alongside it
feel worn down but not in crisis
want therapy that is calm, practical, and forward-focused
Hello, I’m Suzanne
After 30 years in fast-paced corporate roles, managing teams while raising a family and caring for ageing parents, I know what it’s like to appear in control on the outside while struggling with stress, anxiety, overwhelm, and self-doubt on the inside.
Facing my own health challenges, fertility journeys, grief, and career pressures revealed just how powerfully the mind affects our wellbeing, resilience and ability to cope. Through these experiences, I discovered the life-changing impact of caring for my mental fitness and seeking professional support when I needed it most.
That’s why I decided to retrain, swapping boardrooms for the chance to help people reset, reconnect with themselves, and move forward with more ease and confidence toward a more positive, hopeful, and happier state of mind.

Solution-focused hypnotherapy is a future- and goal-oriented approach that works with both the conscious and subconscious mind to bring about practical change. Yes, I offer both online and in-person sessions. The in-person locations are in Bury, Altrincham, and Central London. Online sessions give you the flexibility to join from anywhere with no travel time, but you must have a private space where you won’t be disturbed. Results are equally effective online as in person, so it really is a preference for you to consider where you feel you’ll be able to relax and engage with the therapy. If you would like to discuss the best option for you, please get in touch.

The initial consultation (50 minutes) is a chance for us to meet and understand your current feelings, what you’d like to change, your goals, and how we might work together. We’ll discuss what’s going on in your mind right now and explain the process. You’ll also receive a relaxation audio recording to keep. To book your initial consultation, click here. Please note that hypnosis is not included in the initial consultation.

That depends on your goals and how complex the issue is. For example:
The “Quit Smoking” package is designed for 2 × 50-minute sessions. Unlock-Potential
For simple phobias, 3 sessions plus the initial consultation might suffice.
Other programmes (e.g., Stress & Anxiety, Life Transitions, Weight Management) may require a different number of sessions tailored to you.
I will always aim to give an estimation of the number of sessions needed at the initial consultation.

You’re certainly not alone. Many people try willpower alone or other therapies or methods without lasting success. Hypnotherapy works differently by directly addressing subconscious patterns—habits, triggers, beliefs—that sit behind behaviour. With your commitment and the right method, change is very possible. IF you would like to book a 15-minute discovery call to discuss your specific goal or issue, book here.

Yes — when conducted by a trained professional, hypnotherapy is safe. My approach is evidence-based and grounded in neuroscience and solution-focused therapy. There’s no “mind control”; it is not magic or a quick fix; instead, it’s about you working collaboratively with your mind, not against it, to create lasting change. Yes! Many clients experience significant improvement and real change. For example:
For phobias and fears, you’ll work to reduce trigger responses, retrain your subconscious, and regain confidence.
For sleep issues, hypnotherapy can relax your mind and help restore energy naturally, helping you manage internal stress more effectively.
For overthinking and stress, you’ll learn to be aware and manage your own cognitive distortions, rewrite your inner script, and train your mind to help you in positive and beneficial ways.
-
Every person is unique, and the pace of change varies. Some clients notice shifts quickly; others take a bit more time or more sessions. We’ll measure progress together, and I’ll support you with tools along the way. Your commitment matters, and those clients who fully engage with the process have the most successful outcomes and transformations.
